automobilistiche e molto altro ancora si potrebbe dire, anche solo per parlare
di quelle curiosità sconosciute a molti. Come il fatto che quelle “nonnine scoppiettanti” non
avevano nulla da invidiare in fatto di velocità ai bolidi odierni. La Mercedes W125 Avus del 1937
superava i 350 km/h e le stesse auto da corsa dei primi decenni del 900’, pur
essendo molto pesanti e con freni nei
primi tempi solo sulle ruote posteriori, superavano i 140 km/h (correndo su certe "strade", per di più!)<o:p></o:p></span></div>

specializzate nella realizzazione di carrozze cominciarono a produrre
autovetture e ne migliorarono le parti essenziali, ruote comprese. Un esempio è
la carrozzeria Diatto nata nel 1835 proprio come fabbrica di carrozze e
diventata poi una delle pioniere tra le produttrici di automobili dei primi del

(brevetto “vulcanizzazione” del 1839 ), la <i>Dunlop</i> (brevetto “cerchioni
elastici a camera d’aria” del 1888 ), i fratelli <i>Michelin</i> (primo pneumatico
su PEUGEOT o PANHARD del 1895).</span></div>

molteplici, a partire dal reperimento dei legni giusti e con una corretta
stagionatura. Questo presupposto, valido anche per la scocca in legno della
vettura, è a maggior ragione fondamentale per le ruote, in quanto ogni difetto
di costruzione ha ripercussioni dannose sull'intera struttura della vettura.</span><o:p></o:p></div>

l’acacia, l’olmo e il noce, che devono però avere una stagionatura di almeno 10

più grandi. Questo non solo per dare un supporto su cui inchiodare la pelle o la

linea più morbida alla <i>capote</i> stessa.

che si sta concludendo proprio in questo mese di maggio.<br />

Si tratta del primo <b>corso di formazione nel settore automotive</b> per <b>restauro</b> e <b>prototipazione</b>, voluto e promosso dall’A.S.I. (<i>Automotoclub Storico Italiano</i>)
in collaborazione con la Piazza dei Mestieri di Torino.<br />

L’intento è quello di
tutelare il patrimonio del settore auto che per
professionalità ed esperienza è
stato ed è ben presente nel territorio torinese, rivolgendosi in particolare ai

A me in particolare è stato chiesto di tenere lezioni sulla mia attività, sul mio lavoro passato e attuale, e siccome

Ecco che allora i collezionisti di oggi si ritrovano con il solo telaio e il motore (più o meno integri) come nel caso che vi mostrerò. Si tratta di una FIAT 501 S del 1921 da corsa e per rifare il legno della scocca, non avendo a disposizione i disegni originali, occorre avere la fortuna di trovare un esemplare da copiare da musei o privati. </div>

Il passo successivo è la ricostruzione vera e propria della scocca, non solo del legno che rimarrà nella vettura rivestito di lamiera, ma anche dei modelli in legno per la battitura di quei particolari e di quelle parti che non si possono più trovare, come la calandra del radiatore della FIAT 501 S.<br />

Buongiorno a tutti, rieccomi a voi con un altro restauro di una vettura d'epoca realizzato qualche anno fa. Questa volta la vettura in questione è una <b>autentica rarità</b>, in quanto si tratta della produzione di una fabbrica francese la cui attività si attesta nel ristretto periodo 1912-1929: la <b>S.C.A.P. </b>(<i>Société de Construction Automobile Parisienne</i>).<br />
Pertanto in circolazione sono molto rari gli esemplari di questa marchio, e per questo modello in particolare (<b>Tipo M</b>) se non si fosse conservata la totalità del suo lamierato originale, sarebbe stata un'impresa impossibile risalire alle dimensioni e alla linea della scocca. <br />

Partendo proprio da questo "guscio" di lamiere riposizionate in modo corretto sul telaio, ho potuto eseguire prima il disegno scala 1:1 e quindi la costruzione materiale della scocca in legno, ricostituendo l'ossatura portante della vettura. </div>

quest'oggi voglio mostrarvi qualcosa di diverso rispetto alle volte precedenti, e cioè singole parti delle vetture d'epoca. Chi come me restaura le scocche in legno, infatti, non si occupa solo della loro costruzione parziale o totale, ma spesso anche di altri singoli componenti in legno. </div>

Uno degli elementi maggiormente restaurati è sicuramente il "volante"; eccone alcuni esempi, presi da una Ferrari e da delle Alfa Romeo.</div>

Sempre in legno, spesso in essenze e radiche pregiate come noce o mogano, sono poi le varie ebanisterie, che rifiniscono con un tocco di eleganza le parti interne delle vetture. Quello che rende questo restauro importante è, a parte la bellezza delle linee di questa vettura, che ho avuto la possibilità di restaurare la vettura originale completa in tutte le sue parti in lamiera, cosa assai rara.<br />

La scocca in legno era invece totalmente mancante e per ciò la costruzione del legno ha comportato una difficoltà maggiore, in quanto è stato necessario seguire le "imperfezioni" delle lamiere originali, fatte a mano e non stampate. Solo così infatti, è stato possibile riutilizzarle.</div>

Quest'oggi vi mostrerò il restauro di un'<b>Alfa Romeo 2300s 8c</b>, <b>carrozzata</b> in Germania negli anni Trenta.<br />
In questo particolare restauro si può notare come la vettura sia giunta ai giorni nostri completa in tutte le parti della carrozzeria e della scocca, con solo i legni da ricostruire:<br />

Avendo la carrozzeria con lamierati originali, è stato possibile fare un disegno completo della stessa, e in seguito ricostruire fedelmente la scocca in legno, nei minimi particolari.<br />

Il dettaglio forse più raro e curioso di questo modello di Alfa Romeo 2300s, che la distingue dagli altri in circolazione di altre carrozzerie, è la "cresta" che parte dallo schienale posteriore e termina nel vano porta-ruota di scorta. Normalmente tale dettaglio o non è presente, o è "riportato" con un pezzo aggiunto in un secondo momento.<br />

Avendo così l'ossatura in legno di nuovo completa, è stato possibile riutilizzare i lamierati originali e, dopo la loro opportuna lavorazione, risistemarli sopra la scocca in legno.<br />

dopo aver visto il restauro di una Bugatti, vi mostro oggi il restauro della scocca in legno di una ancor più prestigiosa vettura, una Isotta Fraschini 8A del 1929 della famosa Carrozzeria Castagna di Milano.<br />

Nelle prime foto vedete la macchina ancora con le lamiere originali che rivestono il legno. Come notate la macchina è completa in ogni sua parte, ma specie nella scocca in legno necessitava di un restauro, compresi gli archi della capote posteriore.<br />

Nella foto successiva vi è una panoramica totale di tutti i legni che sono stati sostituiti per motivi di robustezza o perché rovinati da parassiti del legno e dall'umidità. Tutti questi legni vecchi non vengono certo buttati, ma bensì conservati gelosamente dai proprietari della vettura, per collezionismo o come prove dell'originalità dell'auto stessa. <br />

chi restaura la scocche in legno delle vetture d'epoca non sempre si occupa esclusivamente di questo lavoro, ma può anche costruire modelli in legno per fuoriserie.<br />
Eccovi ad esempio il "master" della <b>Cizeta MORODER</b>, che prende il nome proprio dal famoso musicista internazionale Giorgio Moroder, costruita nella mio laboratorio nel Maggio dell'89.<br />

Per quanto riguarda il sistema di costruzione Weymann, venne in quegli anni utilizzato da diversi carrozzieri e case automobilistiche. Eccovi ad esempio un restauro da me effettuato di una F.I.A.T 509 Weymann del 1927, 4 cilindri.<br />
Vorrei farvi notare come in quegli anni le vetture risentivano molto della loro discendenza dalle carrozze, per cui alcuni modelli non avevano la lamiera o l'alluminio che rivestiva la scocca in legno, ma la stoffa o la pelle (finta o vera) su alcune parti.<br />

ho pensato di farvi vedere, cercando nelle foto di archivio, come venivano costruite nelle fabbriche americane nel <b>1928</b> le scocche, usando già una vera e propria <u>catena di montaggio</u>. Vi sono anche i disegni tecnici che venivano forniti dai disegnatori agli scoccai per costruire ad esempio il modello <b>Weymann</b>, che qui vi mostro. Questo era caratterizzato dai suoi <u>particolari incastri</u> fra le varie parti del legno, utilizzando dei giunti elastici e non rigidi, caratteristica propria dei <b>Weymann</b>. <br />
